DAB Dance Project: First abundance society (Korea)

Tanz-Duo Performance – 20 min – ÖSTERREICH PREMIERE

This fast paced dance performance focuses on the fact that preparing for the future doesn’t guarantee a better quality of life. Some experts say the society of hunters-gatherers before agriculture was the ‘First abundance society’. The working hours were shot, epidemics were rare and hunters-gatherers could enjoy the best nutrition intake. This piece aims to portray the paradise imagined by the artist who dreams of the first  abundance society. At the border between the requirements for the paradise by definition and those advanced by the artist, the consecutive arrangement of movements inspired by
physiological, psychological and behavioral responses to stress depicts the image of today’s ordinary human being, caught in repeated stress and responses to it within the mixture of working, worries, and hope for the future.

Performance & Choreografie: Kim Ho Yeon, Lim Jung Ha

The Dab Dance Project was started in 2016 by Ho-yeon and Jung Ha. Since its inception, the company has received numerous awards and been invited to perform in a wide range of festivals. The group’s piece entitled First Abundance Society received the  Choreography Award 2017 from Seoul Dance Collection and the Judges’ Award at New Dance for Asia, while their work Bomberman received the Choreography and Stage Art Award at PADAF 2017.
